Sometimes I'm a little spoiled for that classic luxury vibe when I'm the second photographer for Nadine Photography. Longue Vue Club hits all the notes when it comes to a classic, Bridgerton experience with a secret stunning view of the river valley, and it was one of the venues I toured when I was getting married!
Dayna and Samuel were that gorgeous, obviously perfect match, both classy and down to get a little dirty for a spectacular photo. In other words: a photographer's dream.
From heavy rain to
unexpected sunshine.
The character of Longue Vue isn't like your average country club. This place feels like stepping back into another time, but with modern amenities and touches. The herringbone flooring in the reception space is one of those special details, and who doesn't love a bay window moment?

If you're into photojournalistic photography, never say no to the candid opportunities that only happen during Getting Ready photos. Dayna's pure joy leading up to the Big Moment are such an example of the importance of capturing those honest glimpses.
Right as the ceremony began, rain began pouring. The forecast for that day had said it would rain all day, but wow, the timing of it.

The forecast had literally called for rain throughout the day, from dawn 'til dusk, but after the absolute downpour during the ceremony, the sun made its unlikely appearance. The light had a gauzy effect, which just glowed beautifully on Dayna and Samuel. We couldn't have asked for anything more perfect.
And then the clouds broke with the sun.
I love so much their reactions of surprise as the cold sparklers light up the room, and their dips? Flawless. Nailing a photo of a perfect dip is a lot of luck and experience, because photographers can try to anticipate when and how it might happen, but we sure do move very fast if we're not in the right place.

Yes, the sun came out after the ceremony for a round of photos, but the clouds were gathering for more of that forecasted rain. Because of this, we didn't exactly expect a sunny golden hour.

These guests came out to party. I love grabbing photos on the dance floor when the good beats come on, especially when friends and family get a little wild.
The best reception photos capture the real energy of all the moments the newlyweds can't possibly witness, but love to see immortalized in their gallery's story.
