Your Devoted Emotional Disaster

But, wow, even if the industry was making strides in good directions, the toxicity at just the college level was already a huuuuge turn-off. (No joke, the Mean Girl energy is real.) I had to rethink everything.

Then, as a request made by family way back in 2010, I took my hobbyist camera and played around as the photographer for a small elopement at the top of the Mount Washington Overlook.

Honestly, it had just been a favor. I'd had no interest in being any kind of wedding photographer before that, and was 100% sure nothing would change.

I'm that offbeat-weird-but-kind-of-cool kid in high school that always picked a seat in the row closest to a window, doodled constantly in spiralbound notebooks, and never had math homework to turn in. (Sorry, Dad.)

When I took my first photography class in college, it was with the intention of breaking into high fashion and avant-garde editorials. Literally, just like the styled shoots of America's Next Top Model that I watched obsessively for 24 seasons.

well, it did.

the art of living

unapologetically

in love.

When someone asks us, "How long have the two of you been married?" The answer's complicated.

We were together years before marriage was legal for the queer community, and we remember very well when the state we were living in at the time, California, voted to repeal marriage equality. The confused, dehumanized feelings from that night never go away.

This is where that fire comes from.

I'm the fiercest advocate for funky, quirky, wild,  unconventional, untraditional, even rebellious love stories across the spectrum.

You want a tarot reader at your reception? Heck yes. You want a dress that's more than classic white? I want that for you a thousand percent. Feeling a traditional chapel-length veil with under-the-veil photos? Work.

This is what i do.

what

 i do.

This is

It's more than a moment: it's the next chapter in your story, and it deserves to be told by someone who sees you for you and listens when you use your voice.

In 2010, I fell in love with love stories. Now, telling those stories with photography has captured my whole heart.

I want you to feel your whole wedding day every time you revisit your photos, even through moments where you weren't present, or during those fleeting seconds that you missed while you were exchanging vows, or the tears of joy that were cried when you were so deep into crying your own.

As you search for your perfect wedding photographer, feel out their vibes, look for the important values you share, and trust your heart. If you think you might be feeling that cosmic connection (you'll know when you know) between us —

get yourself a photographer that gets you.
