When I have the opportunity to be the second photographer for Alexa Frankovitch, I know I'm about to party with the best and coolest people in love out there.
This celebration at the Art Room in Pittsburgh's Strip District was extra special for me. Groom Austin Esq. had chosen to be an immigration attorney in Washington DC., and as a child of an immigrant mom, whose parents were war refugees from the Japanese occupied Indonesia, I was determined to do the best job I could.
The Art Room sits right on the Terminal, an industrial space for more intimate weddings. The Victorian-style metallic ceiling makes for a super unique lighting affect that I can't replicate anywhere else.
A quick walk from the Hilton Homewood Suites on Smallman Street brings us to a perfect spot by the Allegheny River for a First Look and family + wedding party photos.
The best part about being right on the Terminal in the Strip District is how easy it is to just hop right out into a bunch of photo locations with those good city vibes. All the better if we're outside the busy season with tons of visitors milling around.
The best parties have speeches full of both laughs and tears, and lots and lots of cheers, which were aplenty for Amanda and Austin. Cue the cake cutting, an incredible first dance, dancing to all the best music, and of course a quick moment outside for some high flash portraits.
