When Lauren and Michael and I got together at a local Pittsburgh coffee shop to discuss an engagement photoshoot, we were lucky that the busy little cafe was loud with late morning patrons, because we were shouting with excitement.
I had practically grown up in and around water, so I'd been eager to do a funky cool romantic af water engagement for literal years. Finally, the perfect adventurous duo came to me.
And then, one day, Lauren lost a battle against a single stair.
The good news was that we had the time to push the shoot back to a date later in the year while Lauren recovered from surgery and the whole leg cast situation.
She was a trooper to tackle this shoot with a fresh leg brace, but we still went slow and easy during the first part of our shoot at the lesser known gem of Brady's Run.
Climbing into the water meant gravity was less of a challenge for Lauren's recovering ankle, which meant we could get moving.
My favorite thing to do as a photographer is capture candid realness, so most of our photo time in the water was simply letting Lauren and Michael have fun and be in love.
I would literally do this whole shoot all over again in a heartbeat.
